Daikin Europe including the AAF Group of companies will donate 1 million euro to the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in order to provide humanitarian aid to the people in Ukraine and those suffering displacement as a result of the conflict in Ukraine.
As a global group with operations in more than 160 countries and nearly 90 000 employees, Daikin believes in the importance of protecting the safety and health of its employees and their families around the world.
On behalf of the Daikin group, Daikin Europe has recently decided to donate 1 million euro to the UNHCR, which provides protection and assistance to the people of Ukraine. Daikin will also be donating products for refugee accommodation and educational facilities. In addition, Daikin Europe employees will raise funds to support their Ukrainian colleagues and their families.
Masatsugu Minaka, Vice President of Daikin Industries and Chairman of Daikin Europe said: “Daikin Europe has more than 1 000 Ukrainian employees working at our 2 factories in the Czech Republic and many more across our group. We are heartbroken by the difficult situation in their home country and hope that a peaceful and safe world will return as soon as possible. Daikin will continue to monitor the situation closely and ensure the safety and security of our employees, as well as cooperate with humanitarian relief efforts.”
Daikin’s entities in Europe have suspended business in Russia in consideration of the current situation of economic, logistics and others.
